Airport Breaks October
Record
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Nov. 26, 2007 - Another passenger record was broken in October, making it the eighth time this year a new monthly record has been set. The number of enplaned passengers – those getting on a plane at The Eastern Iowa Airport – was 47,413, an 8.3 % increase over the last record, posted in October 2006. The Federal Aviation Administration uses the number of enplaned passengers as the statistic to measure growth. A total of 94,574 passengers chose The Eastern Iowa Airport for their business and leisure travel in October. The previous record was set in October 2006 when there were a total of 88,016 passengers. The Airport just finished the busy Thanksgiving weekend, and dense fog at the beginning of the travel week meant a delayed start for many vacations. But the weather cleared in the Cedar Rapids area on Wednesday and was good traveling weather for the remainder of the week. Airport Director Dan Mann said that he expects that 2007 will be the third consecutive year the Airport has broken its passenger record. “ We want to take the time this holiday season to thank all those from Eastern Iowa, Western Illinois and points beyond for choosing The Eastern Iowa Airport for their travel,” he said. “As we look to 2008, there are
many exciting things happening at the Airport to help enhance your travel
experience,” Mann said. “We hope you will continue to use the Corridor’s
airport for all your travel needs.” October 2007 October 2006 Total Passengers: 94,574 Total PAX: 88,016 Enplaned Passengers: 47,413 Enplaned PAX: 43,777 Deplaned Passengers: 47,161 Deplaned PAX: 44,239
